Like many of you reading this, I wanted to start a home-based internet marketing business by leveraging the power of the internet, but was clueless about how to get started. After many months of wasted time and money I was frustrated and ready to give up! The terminology was confusing, capturing quality leads seemed impossible, products to market, while plentiful, offered a pretty pitiful return on investment. In short, there didn't seem to be anything which could eliminate the guesswork and give proven results.
There were benefits to the time spent browsing around for internet business opportunities. Some of the benefits? 1) I found a marketing tool that was a perfect fit for me as a first-time internet marketer. 2) It became easier to "sort through" all the bogus business opportunities out there and really hone in on a quality product. 3) I found legitimate sites offering a wealth of information for free.
One note on free information; when enrolling to receive the information it is usually for a trial period. Avoid enrolling on multiple sites and becoming overwhelmed. Give yourself time to fully evaluate the information from one source before moving on to another. The point is to get educated without experiencing information overload.
Here are some points to consider when looking at internet marketing systems.
* Is the system easy to duplicate even if you are not internet savvy? * Does the sale of the product require you to cold call, buy lead lists, beg friends and family for referrals or buy into expensive pay-per-click programs? * Does the system offer a STRONG support network? * What is your return on investment?
Whether you choose to learn through trial and error or tap into an internet marketing system for your business, you owe it to yourself to be armed with as much knowledge as you can. In the words of Francis Bacon, "Knowledge is Power".
