Like many of you reading this, I wanted to start a home-based internet marketing business by leveraging the power of the internet, but was clueless ab

Starting any business, including home based ones, will entail some costs.

You can spend thousands of dollars starting a Franchise, with no guarantee of success. It will still depend on you, the amount of effort you make, the training and backing provided, even the location can all affect how successful you will be.

You could start your own business, perhaps as a hairdresser, motor mechanic, gardener or whatever. You will still need to invest some money, for tools, perhaps spares or other products, possibly premises, advertising and many other, usually unexpected, factors.

Even in MLM you will need several hundred dollars usually, to buy stock, get duplicated web sites, go to trainings and opportunity meetings, etc.

With all businesses you will need customers. The cost of finding these is sometimes exorbitant and usually not very cost effective. Local advertising cannot be done on a shoestring. To be effective you need to place an advert in a number of times, not just once.

Trade directories may be better but are also costly. The fact is, more and more people are using the internet to find things at the best prices.

Developing and hosting your own web site is another expense and it is not very effective unless you also have different means of driving traffic to your site. Without that your web site can be compared to trying to locate a particular paragraph in a library. The chances of finding it randomly is remote.

Putting more money into the business does not, in itself, guarantee success. You can easily find you are throwing good money after bad.

So what is the minimum you can spend to set up a successful business?

According to one company, just $9.95 to try it and then the same each month. They give a double your money back guarantee that you will recover your outlay at least in the first month or they will send you $20.

So what is this business? Is it worth even considering because surely, at such a low price, it can't be very good?

According to this company they have developed what they term Web 3.0. We already have Web 2.0 from which we have things like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo , Skype and many others. Web 2.0 allows more interaction between parties.

Web 3.0 takes this further and actively seeks partners from the internet who are looking for something, usually a business. They then contact those people on your behalf with some information. If they are interested, and usually they will be, they opt in for more information, so you have a double opt in. This means it is not spamming.

The company will send out to 10,000 people actively looking for a business with your details, rather like an Affiliate link. From these 10,000 the odds of getting people who will want more information is high. They will, themselves, be interested in this service and want to join.
